UpCountry Brewing began in 2016 by John Cochran, a craft beer industry veteran since the mid-1990's. John already has a lot of beer-related jobs within his 20 years in brewing and he is quite excited to get back to his roots by providing a small, local brewery focusing on good friends, terrific beers and fun times.
UpCountry Brewing is a brewery, taproom, and music venue located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to say that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it's the brewery located furthest west before leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing is recognized for their beer craft and they offer an array of beer styles that could include saisons, sours, porters, IPAs, stouts and many more. We have around 20 beers on the top and we are always thinking about adding and making new beers for the locals of Asheville. UpCountry Brewing can even offer flights, goblets, pints and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. The brewery even has some beers to go available and it will include a growler with your choice of beer or cans of Mangose, Hop Dread Red IPA, UpCo Lager or Bogey Free Session IPA.
UpCountry Brewing can even be bought anywhere in the area like bottle shops, supermarkets and bars. They can be present in various towns like Waynesville, Woodfin, Candler, Canton, Arden, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Hendersonville and other areas. We also infuse our brews with various syrups and flavors in order to give them a unique and creative kick. We have got a Randall made for infusions and we even have a pilot brew system to make unique tastes.

Whatever your dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you! We have got other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Wish to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
In addition to hosting live music, it is no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They pull down the big projection screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everybody can dance. Other live streams the brewery is definitely recognized for would include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will always encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been high quality thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did an excellent job in designing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
For those who do not know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will definitely wear his jersey so you must keep an eye out.
