Asheville Brewery: Methods For Beginners

Our mission at UpCountry Brewing is to help construct amazing experiences and to share our passion with regards to local music, beer crafting and more. We are doing this by focusing on the Carolina mountain region where we are located.

As a community driven brewery, West Asheville taproom is your best destination if you would like to have an adventure while you are catching up with your loved ones and friends. With a large backyard, intimate indoor seating, and a generous space for live local music, UpCountry Brewing serves numerous types of craft beer styles while providing a full brewpub food menu for locals and visitors alike.

UpCountry Brewing was first set up in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John has a wide experience with regards to beer-related jobs because he's been in this industry for more than 20 years so he is very excited to go back to his roots by providing a local brewery focusing on terrific beer, fun times and good friends.

UpCountry Brewing is a brewery, taproom, and music venue located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to claim that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it is the brewery located furthest west prior to leaving Beer City itself.

We are focusing on experimentation and seeing the deliciousness that we can produce using the knowledge from every brewer.

Community

Every month, UpCountry will be selecting a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations such as Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Buyers purchase a featured beer and get to keep the glass, with ten percent of that beer's sales going towards the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is essential, and these pint nights are just one method for the brewery to provide back.

UpCountry Brewing is always supporting local art and music in Asheville and the neighboring areas like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.

In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will display one artist each month to show their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and buy. Aside from the month long campaign, the artist will also get a delegated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. UpCountry values the support of local art, music, and beer, and will continue to exhibit their support for all of these avenues of Asheville. Community and business relationships are incredibly essential to UpCountry's owner, John Cochran, as well as the UpCountry staff, so the brewery looks forward to continue Pint Nights like these to support!
