Our mission at UpCountry Brewing is to help construct awesome experiences and to share our passion with regards to local music, beer crafting and more. We are doing this by focusing on the Carolina mountain region where we're located.

UpCountry Brewing was first set up in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John already has lots of beer-related jobs within his 20 years in brewing and he is extremely excited to acquire back to his roots by giving a small, local brewery focusing on good friends, terrific beers and fun times.
UpCountry Brewing is a taproom, brewery and a music venue that you may find at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We may wish to claim that we're brewing our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it is the brewery found furthest west.
UpCountry Brewing provides a number of beer styles, including saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts, and more. UpCountry already worked various organizations including Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Buyers can purchase a featured beer and they could also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is absolutely essential and these pint nights could be a way for the brewery to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing supports local art and music in Asheville and close, neighboring areas, including Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop situated in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist every month to show their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display as well as for buy. We also love hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes! It'll include various bands including The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Wish to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Apart from live music, it is not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was known for live streaming music, but it is responsive to Phish plays. They'll pull down the big projection screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everybody can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is known for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the ideal thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in designing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are tons of canning designs on the way so you need to stay tuned.
If you don't know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
