UpCountry Brewing was established in 2016 by John Cochran and he is known in the craft beer industry since 1990's. UpCountry Brewing can provide lots of beer styles, that might include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. With twenty of its own beers on tap, the brew house is constantly thinking about and creating new beers for Asheville to enjoy. We've got been infusing a lot of our brews with various syrups and flavors that can offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions and a pilot brew system to help take the brewing one step further. We are all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can produce using the knowledge from each brewer!

Together with offering delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines along with a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everybody to enjoy. You do not need to be a hard-core beer aficionado to be able to enjoy our alcohol since we have choices for everybody. Aside from liquor, UpCountry will offer signature cocktails that will rotate through the year depending on the season.

Food

Together with brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry provides a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. We even have dessert choices for the folks who love sweets. Our wide menu variety provides something for everybody! We are also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even when you're on a diet, we are going to do our best to accommodate you. We've got plenty of choices for the entire family, along with kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for family and friends to enjoy.

When you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to meet with your friends and satisfy your hunger. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you can try the corn hole or other activities that we have scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we also offer yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.

Community

Each month, UpCountry can choose a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry already worked several organizations including Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Clients will undoubtedly purchase a featured beer and they can keep the glass. The 10 percent of the sales could be going to the nonprofit orgs. At UpCountry, community is actually essential and these pint nights could be a way for the brewery to give back.

Local Art And Music

UpCountry Brewing supports local art and music in Asheville and close, neighboring places, including Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.

UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly along with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to show their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display along with for buy. Aside from a month long campaign, every artist will get a delegated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month is present and able to discuss their work, and a pint glass featuring the artist's work is available for buy. UpCountry will always value the support of local music, art and beer and they will continue to support all of these. Music

UpCountry brewing is always proud to provide live, local music on a nightly basis. Once you've taken the family and friends to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We love hosting solo musicians like Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We even host those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. It's going to include several bands including The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. We also have other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Wish to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.

Together with hosting live music, it is no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery was recognized for live streaming music, but it's sensitive to Phish plays. They pull down the huge projection screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everybody can dance. The other known live streams that the brewery is centering on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will always encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

We provide all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry does not wish to limit live music to having a cover charge, which is why all of our events are free to the public.

Tours

UpCountry Brewing provides beer tours by special request. Just check our website for information! Together with beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you are going to receive a guided tour of the brew house and along with a 'Beer 101' crash course in the way to make and produce beer. Good Beer Hunting

UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the perfect thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are plenty of canning designs on the way so you should stay tuned.

Georgia Bulldogs

If you do not know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will undoubtedly wear his jersey so you should keep an eye out.
