UpCountry Brewing is now located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and it is a tap room, music venue and a brewery.
UpCountry Brewing offers a number of beer styles, including saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts, and more. With twenty of its own beers on tap, the brew house is constantly thinking up and creating new beers for Asheville to enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can provide goblets, pints, flights and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. Furthermore, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go features a growler with your preference of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer can be found all over town in several grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding places.
Our extensive beer list is perfect for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes along with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We have been infusing a lot of our brews with various syrups and flavors that can offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing a step further. We're all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can create using the knowledge from each brewer!
Apart from this, we offer delicious beer and UpCountry also offers red and white wines and a full liquor bar of gin, vodka, whiskey, tequila and others. We have options for everyone so you don't have to be a full on beer lover in order to enjoy our alcohol. Together with liquor, UpCountry offers craft signature cocktails that rotate throughout the year according to the season.
Apart from selling and brewing beer, UpCountry can also offer you a full food menu that could include appetizers, pizzas, salads, soups, hot dogs, burgers and also meals for dogs. We even have dessert options for the folks who love sweets. Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even though you're on a diet, we will do our best to accommodate you. We have plenty of options for the entire family, along with kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for friends and family to enjoy.
When you have worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to talk with family or friends and satisfy your hunger. After you eat your dinner, lunch or snack, you could always try our corn hole and other activities scheduled at the brewery. Together with live music, we host a yoga class on Sunday mornings, music bingo on Wednesdays, and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry prefers a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations for example Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Customers can buy a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is important, and these pint nights are only one method for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is actually supporting local art and music in Asheville and all the surrounding places for example Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop situated in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display along with for purchase. Together with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery along with at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can show and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist could be available. UpCountry will always support the local music, art and beer in your community and will continue doing this in the foreseeable future. Community and business relationships are extremely important to UpCountry's owner, John Cochran, along with the UpCountry staff, so the brewery looks forward to continue Pint Nights like these to support!
UpCountry brewing is proud to provide live, local music every night. Once you've taken the friends and family to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We like to host solo musicians for example Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We even host those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. These include bands like Phuncle Sam, The Paper Crowns, and The Dirty Dead. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Together with hosting live music, it is no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They generally pull down the huge projector screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! Other live streams the brewery is noted for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry motivates Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

We offer all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry does not want to limit live music to having a cover charge, which is why all of our events are free to the public.

Together with beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you'll receive a guided tour of the brew house and along with a 'Beer 101' crash course in how to make and produce beer. Together with the beer making process, you'll learn what UpCountry's equipment does, and how each beer is brewed, from the recipe invention to kegging out the finished product in either cans or kegs.

UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the ideal thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an outstanding job with developing the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are plenty of canning designs on the way so you have to stay tuned.
If you don't have any idea yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is actually a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
