UpCountry Brewing was first established in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John has worked lots of beer-related jobs in his 20+ years in brewing (including co-founding Terrapin Beer Company), and he is excited to acquire back to his roots by offering a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, good friends, and great beers.
UpCountry Brewing is referred to as a brewery, taproom and also a music venue found at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We would want to claim that we are brewing our beer in "West, West Asheville," since it is the brewery found furthest west.

Our extensive beer list is ideal for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity and daring recipes as well as those go-to, easy drinking styles that any person can enjoy. We've lately been infusing some of our brews with various syrups and flavors for an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions, as well as a pilot brew system to take brewing an extra step further. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that can be changed every week. Customers buy a featured beer and get to keep the glass, with 10 percent of that beer's sales going towards the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is unquestionably important and the pint nights can be a good way to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is really supporting local art and music in Asheville and all the surrounding areas for example Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display as well as for purchase. Apart from live music, it is not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was known for live streaming music, but it is responsive to Phish plays. They're going to pull down the big projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is known for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will invariably encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

We offer all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry does not want to limit the live music to have a cover charge, which is the reason why our events are free to public.

UpCountry Brewing is well known for being family and kid friendly. We have a big outdoor patio space with games designed for kids and a cornhole set for friends and family to enjoy. Our patio and courtyard is also dog friendly so bring them with you.

UpCountry values the outdoor activities that Asheville has to offer, anything from floating down the river to tackling a strenuous mountain trail. UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been first class thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an exceptional job with designing the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are a lot of canning designs on the way so you must stay tuned.
If you don't have any idea yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is really a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will unquestionably wear his jersey so you should keep an eye out.
