UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, who is known as craft beer industry veteran. UpCountry Brewing may be present in 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and this is a taproom, brewery and a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing can offer a range of beer styles, which will include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and much more. We have over 20 types of beers on tap and we are still planning to produce new beers that everyone will surely enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can offer flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-once pour in the taproom. Furthermore, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go features a growler with your selection of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Even when you are on a diet, we are going to do our best to accommodate you. We have a lot selections for the whole family and we even have kid-friendly and dog-friendly meals.
When you have worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the ideal place to talk with family or friends and satisfy your hunger. After you eat your dinner, lunch or snack, you could always try our corn hole and other activities scheduled at the brewery. Each month, UpCountry prefers a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations such as Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they could also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop positioned in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery can be showcasing one artist a month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for purchase and display. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month is there and able to discuss their work, and a pint glass featuring the artist's work is available for purchase. UpCountry values the support of local art, music, and beer, and will continue to demonstrate their support for all of these avenues of Asheville. UpCountry brewing is always proud to offer live, local music on a nightly basis. We've got other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Along with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery has been known for live streaming music, but it's extra attention to when Phish plays. They are going to pull down the large projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. The other known live streams that the brewery is concentrating on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry motivates Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design have been the best and it's all thanks to Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in creating the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are a lot of canning designs on the way so you need to stay tuned.
For those who do not know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
