With a large backyard, intimate indoor seating, and a generous space for live local music, UpCountry Brewing serves a number of craft beer styles while giving a full brewpub food menu for locals and visitors alike.
UpCountry Brewing was founded in 2016 by John Cochran, a craft beer industry veteran since the mid-1990's. John already has lots of beer-related jobs within his 20 years in brewing and he is very excited to get back to his roots by giving a small, local brewery focusing on good friends, wonderful beers and fun times.
UpCountry Brewing is known as a brewery, taproom and also a music venue located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to say that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it's the brewery located furthest west before leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing can offer a wide range of beer styles which will include saisons, sours, porters, IPAs, stouts and much more. We have over 20 beers on the top and we're continuously thinking and making new beers for the locals of Asheville. UpCountry Brewing also offers flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-ounce pour in the taproom.
Also, the brewery have some beers to go available. This includes a growler with your choice of beer or cans of the Mangose, Hop Dread Red IPA, UpCo Lager or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with this, UpCountry Brewing beer can also be bought anywhere in your community like bottle shops, grocery stores and bars. They can also be seen in different towns like Waynesville, Woodfin, Candler, Canton, Arden, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Hendersonville and other areas.
We have an extensive beer list that's surely great for beer lovers and we always consider creativity and we try different recipes that any person can enjoy. We have been infusing some of our brews together with different syrups and flavors to give the beer a unique and creative kick. We've got a Randall for infusions and we have a pilot brew system to help us make unique tastes. We always experiment when it comes to beer and make sure that we offer the best one for you.
Apart from delicious beer, UpCountry Brewing also has red and white wines and other drinks like vodka, gin, whiskey, tequila and others. You do not have to be a hard core beer expert to enjoy in our place because we have various alternatives. We also offer signature cocktails that rotate throughout the year based on the season.
In addition to brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry offers a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. We've got dessert alternatives for the sweet tooths out there, too! Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even if you're actually on a diet, we are going to try everything to accommodate you. We have plenty of alternatives for the whole family, as well as kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for friends and family to enjoy.
Once you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to meet with your friends and satisfy your hunger. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you may try the corn hole or other activities that we have scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we also offer yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Every month, UpCountry will be picking a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations like Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass which will be changed every week. Consumers will surely buy a featured beer and they could keep the glass. The ten percent of the sales will be going to the nonprofit organizations. At UpCountry, community is important, and these pint nights are just one way for the brewery to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding areas, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist every month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display as well as for purchase. In addition to a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery as well as at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can show and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist will be available. UpCountry values the support of local art, music, and beer, and will continue to demonstrate their support for all of these avenues of Asheville. UpCountry brewing is proud to offer live, local music almost every night. Apart from hosting live music, it's already known that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They usually pull down the big projector screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! The other known live streams that the brewery is focusing on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

We offer all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry does not want to limit the live music to have a cover charge, which is the reason why our events are free to public.

UpCountry Brewing can provide beer tours by special request and you may check our website for this. In addition to beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you will receive a guided tour of the brew house and as well as a 'Beer 101' crash course in the way to make and produce beer. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been high quality thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an outstanding job with designing the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are plenty of canning designs on the way so you need to stay tuned.
For those who do not know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. You have to keep an eye out because Cochran will surely wear his jersey.
