Essential Points To Consider When Considering West Asheville Brewery
Our mission at UpCountry Brewing is to help build awesome experiences and to share our passion when it comes to local music, beer crafting and more. We're doing this by focusing on the Carolina mountain region where we are located.
As a community driven brewery, West Asheville taproom is your best destination if you would like to have an adventure while you are catching up with your family and friends. With a large backyard, intimate indoor seating, and a generous space for live local music, UpCountry Brewing serves numerous types of craft beer styles while providing a full brewpub food menu for locals and visitors alike.
UpCountry Brewing was first set up in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John has a wide experience when it comes to beer-related jobs because he's been in this industry for more than 20 years so he is very excited to go back to his roots by providing a local brewery focusing on wonderful beer, fun times and good friends.
UpCountry Brewing is a brewery, taproom, and music venue located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to claim that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it is the brewery located furthest west prior to leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing can provide a range of beer styles, which would include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and much more. We have over 20 types of beers on tap and we are still looking to create new beers that everyone will undoubtedly enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can provide flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-once pour in the taproom. Additionally, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go includes a growler with your choice of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with the taproom, the beer of UpCountry may be found in various towns and grocery stores, bottle shops and bars positioned in Asheville, along with the towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding areas.
We have got our extensive beer list that's the best for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes along with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We've recently been infusing some of our brews with various syrups and flavors for an additional creative kick. The brewery also includes a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing a step further. We're focusing on experimentation and seeing the deliciousness that we can create using the knowledge from every brewer.
In addition to providing delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines as well as a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everyone to enjoy. You don't have to be a hardcore beer expert to be able to enjoy our alcohol since we have selections for everyone. In addition to liquor, UpCountry offers craft signature cocktails that rotate throughout the year based on the season.
Aside from selling and brewing beer, UpCountry could also offer you a full food menu that would include appetizers, pizzas, salads, soups, hot-dogs, burgers and also meals for dogs. We even have dessert selections for the people who love sweets. Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Aside from live music, we have a yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Every month, UpCountry will be selecting a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations like Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that will be changed every week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is undoubtedly important and the pint nights will be a great way to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding areas, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will showcase one artist each month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and purchase. In addition to a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery as well as at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. UpCountry will always support the local music, art and beer in the area and will continue doing this in the foreseeable future. Community and business relationships are extremely important to UpCountry's owner, John Cochran, as well as the UpCountry staff, so the brewery looks forward to continue Pint Nights like these to support!

Aside from live music, it is not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They generally pull down the big projector screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! The other known live streams that the brewery is focusing on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!
