UpCountry Brewing was actually set up in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. Our extensive beer list is great for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativeness and daring recipes in addition to those go-to, easy drinking styles that anybody can enjoy. We've lately been infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors for an additional creative kick. Whatever your dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you! We have got plenty of selections for the whole family, in addition to kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for family and friends to enjoy.
Once you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to speak to your friends and satisfy your hunger. Every month, UpCountry can pick a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry already worked different organizations including Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry could be hosting the pint night with a unique glass that can change every week. Clients purchase a featured beer and get to keep the glass, with 10 percent of that beer's sales going towards the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is essential, and these pint nights are just one way for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is always supporting local art and music in Asheville and the neighboring locations like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop located in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist every month to show their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display in addition to for buy. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a delegated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can display and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist could be available. UpCountry will always value the support of local music, art and beer and they're going to continue to support all of these. UpCountry brewing is proud to provide live, local music almost every night. Once you've taken the family and friends to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We are always proud to host solo musicians including Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We even host those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. It will include different bands including The Dirty Dead, The Paper Crowns and Phuncle Sam. We also have other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Wish to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Along with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They're going to pull down the large projection screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everybody can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is really noted for would include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will always encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been top notch thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an outstanding job with creating the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. You have to stay tuned since there are several more canning designs that are on the way.
If you don't know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
