UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, who is known as craft beer industry veteran. John worked with beer-related jobs in his more than Twenty years in brewing and he is quite fired up to obtain back to his root by providing a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, wonderful beers and best friends. UpCountry Brewing is located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and it's known as a music venue, brewery and a tap room.
UpCountry Brewing can provide plenty of beer styles, that could include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. We have over 20 kinds of beers on tap and we are still seeking to create new beers that everyone will absolutely enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can provide flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-once pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for purchase. We are infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors that could offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions and a pilot brew system to help take the brewing a step further. We are all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can create using the knowledge from each brewer!
Along with offering delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines in addition to a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everyone to enjoy. We have choices for everyone so you do not have to be a hard core beer aficionado in order to enjoy our alcohol. Along with liquor, UpCountry offers craft signature cocktails that rotate through the year based on the season.
Along with brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry offers a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. If you love sweets, we have got different dessert alternatives available for you. Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even if you are actually on a diet, we will do everything to accommodate you. We have a lot choices for the entire family and we even have kid-friendly and dog-friendly meals.
When you've worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the ideal place to meet up with friends or family and satisfy your hunger. After you eat your dinner, lunch or snack, you could always try our corn hole and other activities scheduled at the brewery. Along with live music, we host a yoga class on Sunday mornings, music bingo on Wednesdays, and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry will be picking a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry undoubtedly worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they could also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. Local Art And Music

In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will be presenting one artist a month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for purchase and display. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. Apart from hosting live music, it's already known that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery is known for live streaming music, but it's extra focus on when Phish plays. They're going to pull down the large projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is known for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry motivates Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in creating the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. You need to stay tuned since there are several more canning designs which are on the way.
If you do not know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
