The mission of UpCountry Brewing is to help produce great experiences and share our passion in crafting beer, local music and more. We do this by focusing on the Carolina mountain region where we're presently residing.

UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, known as a craft beer industry veteran since the nineties. John has a wide experience with regards to beer-related jobs because he's been in this industry for more than 20 years so he is very excited to go back to his roots by offering a local brewery focusing on wonderful beer, fun times and good friends.
UpCountry Brewing is a taproom, brewery and a music venue that you may find at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to state that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it's the brewery located furthest west prior to leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing can offer plenty of beer styles, that would include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. We've got over 20 kinds of beers on tap and we're still planning to produce new beers that everyone will absolutely enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can offer goblets, pints, flights and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. In addition, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go features a growler with your choice of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. In addition to availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer might be found all over town in several grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding areas.

Every month, UpCountry can be selecting a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry certainly worked with various organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass which will be changed every week. Consumers will absolutely buy a featured beer and they could keep the glass. The ten percent of the sales can be going to the nonprofit organizations. At UpCountry, community is important, and these pint nights are just one way for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is always supporting local art and music in Asheville and the surrounding areas like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly along with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display as well as for purchase. Aside from a month long campaign, every artist will get a designated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist can be available. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Aside from live music, it's not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was recognized for live streaming music, but it's responsive to Phish plays. They'll pull down the big projector screen to be able to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is really recognized for could include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been top notch thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a terrific job in designing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will absolutely wear his jersey so you should keep an eye out.
