UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, who is referred to as a craft beer industry veteran since the mid 90s. John worked with beer-related jobs in his more than 20 years in brewing and he is extremely excited to acquire back to his root by providing a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, wonderful beers and good friends. UpCountry Brewing is found at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and it's a brewery, taproom and also a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing will offer a range of beer styles, which will include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and many more. We have got over 20 kinds of beers on tap and we are still looking to create new beers that everyone will undoubtedly enjoy. UpCountry offers flights, goblets, pints, and even a twenty-two ounce pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for purchase. Beer to go would include a growler with your selection of beer or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Along with availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer may be found all over town in different grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding locations.
We have got our extensive beer list that is the best for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity and daring recipes in addition to those go-to, easy drinking styles that anyone can enjoy. We've lately been infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors for an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions and a pilot brew system to help take the brewing one step further. Each month, UpCountry chooses a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry absolutely worked with various organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding locations, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly together with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will showcase one artist every month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and purchase. Apart from the month long campaign, the artist will also get a designated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. UpCountry will always value the support of local music, art and beer and they will continue to support all of these. Apart from live music, it's not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They pull down the large projector screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance. The other known live streams that the brewery is concentrating on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will always encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the perfect thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done a phenomenal job with creating the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
If you do not know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
