UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, who is known as craft beer industry veteran. John actually dealt with different beer-related jobs in more than 20 years in the brewing industry and he is fired up to go back and produce a small, local brewery concentrating on wonderful beers, fun times and best friends. UpCountry Brewing may be located in 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and this is a taproom, brewery and a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing will offer plenty of beer styles, that may include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. We have over 20 types of beers on tap and we're still seeking to produce new beers that everyone will definitely enjoy. UpCountry offers flights, goblets, pints, and even a twenty-two ounce pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for purchase. Beer to go would include a growler with your selection of beer or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with the taproom, the beer of UpCountry may be located in different towns and grocery stores, bottle shops and bars positioned in Asheville, along with the towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding locations.
We have got our extensive beer list that's the best for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity and daring recipes in addition to those go-to, easy drinking styles that any individual can enjoy. We are infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors that will offer an additional creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions, in addition to a pilot brew system to take brewing an additional step further. We are concentrating on experimentation and seeing the deliciousness that we can produce using the knowledge from every brewer.

Along with brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry offers a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. We even have dessert choices for the individuals who love sweets. Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even though you are on a diet, we are going to do our best to accommodate you. We have tons of choices for the entire family and we're kid and dog friendly that you can enjoy.
When you've worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the best place to meet up with friends or family and satisfy your hunger. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you can try the corn hole or other activities that we have scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we have a yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry can be choosing a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry absolutely worked with various organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they could also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is definitely important and the pint nights can be a fantastic method to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding locations, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly along with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display in addition to for purchase. Apart from the month long campaign, the artist can also get a designated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can show and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist can be available. UpCountry values the support of local art, music, and beer, and will continue to exhibit their support for all of these avenues of Asheville. UpCountry brewing is always proud to offer live, local music on a nightly basis. Once you've taken the friends and family to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We are always proud to host solo musicians like Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We are even hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. It will include different bands like The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. We have got other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Apart from live music, it's not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery is known for live streaming music, but it's extra focus on when Phish plays. They're going to pull down the large projector screen to be able to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. The other known live streams that the brewery is concentrating on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

UpCountry Brewing is well known for being family and kid friendly. We have a large outdoor patio space with games meant for children and a cornhole set for friends and family to enjoy. Our patio in addition to courtyard are also dog friendly.

Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design have been the best and it's all thanks to Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done a phenomenal job with creating the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are tons of canning designs on the way so you need to stay tuned.
For those who do not know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
