UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran, who is known as craft beer industry veteran. John worked alongside beer-related jobs in his more than Twenty years in brewing and he is quite fired up to obtain back to his root by providing a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, wonderful beers and best friends. UpCountry Brewing may be found in 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and this is a taproom, brewery and a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing will offer lots of beer styles, that may include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. With approximately 20 of its own beers on tap, the brew house is considering making new beers for everyone to enjoy. UpCountry offers flights, goblets, pints, and even a twenty-two ounce pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for purchase. Beer to go would include a growler with your selection of beer or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Along with availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer may be found all over town in different grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding locations.
We have got our extensive beer list that's the best for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes along with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We've recently been infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors for an extra creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing one step further. We're all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can create using the knowledge from each brewer!
Along with offering delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines in addition to a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everyone to enjoy. You don't have to be a hard-core beer expert to enjoy alcohol at our place-we've got choices for everyone! Along with liquor, UpCountry offers craft signature cocktails that rotate throughout the year according to the season.
Along with brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry offers a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. We have got dessert choices for the sweet tooths out there, too! Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Whatever your dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you! We have plenty of choices for the entire family, in addition to kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for friends and family to enjoy.
When you have worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the ideal place to connect to family or friends and satisfy your hunger. After you eat your dinner, lunch or snack, you may always try our corn hole and other activities scheduled at the brewery. Aside from live music, we have a yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Every month, UpCountry can pick a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry certainly worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Consumers will surely buy a featured beer and they could keep the glass. The ten percent of the sales can be going to the nonprofit organizations. At UpCountry, community is really important and these pint nights can be a method for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding locations, for example Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop positioned in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display in addition to for purchase. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. We love hosting solo musicians like Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We also love hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes! It'll include different bands for example The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Aside from live music, it is not a secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was recognized for live streaming music, but it is sensitive to Phish plays. They're going to pull down the large projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is recognized for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

All of our music could have no cover charge. UpCountry doesn't want to limit the live music to have a cover charge, which is the reason why our events are free to public.

UpCountry Brewing is well recognized for being family and kid friendly. We have a massive outdoor patio space with games for the kiddos in addition to a cornhole set for friends and family to enjoy. Our patio in addition to courtyard are also dog friendly.

UpCountry Brewing offers beer tours by special request. Just check our website for info! Along with beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you'll obtain a guided tour of the brew house and in addition to a 'Beer 101' crash course in how to make and produce beer. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design have been the best and it is all thanks to Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in creating the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. You have to stay tuned because there are several more canning designs which are on the way.
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
