UpCountry Brewing started in 2016 by John Cochran and he is known in the craft beer industry since 1990s. UpCountry Brewing is presently located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and this is a tap room, brewery and a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing can offer a lot of beer styles, that will include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and more. With about 20 of its own beers on tap, the brew house is thinking about making new beers for everyone to enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can offer goblets, pints, flights and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. Our extensive beer list is great for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes together with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We are infusing a lot of our brews with several syrups and flavors that may offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing a step further. We are centering on experimentation and seeing the deliciousness that we can create using the knowledge from every brewer.

We also have dessert choices for the sweet tooths out there, too! Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Whatever your dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you! We have a lot of choices for the entire family and we are kid and dog friendly that you could enjoy.
Once you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to meet with your friends and satisfy your hunger. After devouring your lunch, dinner, or snack, enjoy corn hole or one of the a lot of activities we have got scheduled at the brewery. Each month, UpCountry can select a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry unquestionably worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding places, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop situated in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will display one artist each month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and purchase. Together with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery along with at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. UpCountry will always support the local music, art and beer in the area and will carry on doing this in the foreseeable future. Community and business relationships are important for John Cochran, the owner of UpCountry, together with the support of the staff so the brewery will always look forward to continue the Pint Nights.
UpCountry brewing is proud to offer live, local music almost every night. Once you've taken the friends and family to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We are always proud to host solo musicians like Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We also love hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes! It will include several bands like The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. We are also hosting other bands like Mama Danger, Cat and Crow, Astral Plainsmen, Sirius B., The Dirty Badgers, The Junk Drawer, The Free Wheelin' Mamas, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Moonlight Street Folk and more.
Together with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery has been known for live streaming music, but it's extra attention to when Phish plays. They're going to pull down the huge projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is really noted for could include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry will always encourage Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy brews and boogie.

All of our music can have no cover charge. UpCountry does not want to limit the live music to have a cover charge, which is the reason why our events are free to public.

UpCountry Brewing values being family and kid friendly. We have a huge outdoor patio space with games which are made for kids and also a cornhole set for the entire family to enjoy. Our patio and courtyard are dog friendly, so bring the pup too!

UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the perfect thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did an incredible job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will definitely wear his jersey so you should keep an eye out.
