UpCountry Brewing was actually established in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. We have our extensive beer list that's perfect for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity above all else in addition to daring recipes that everyone will undoubtedly enjoy. We've recently been infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors for an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions, in addition to a pilot brew system to take brewing an extra step further. Each month, UpCountry prefers a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry already worked different organizations for example Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Customers buy a featured beer and get to keep the glass, with 10 percent of that beer's sales going towards the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is absolutely important and these pint nights can be a way for the brewery to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing supports local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding locations, for example Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop located in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will show off one artist every month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and purchase. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. UpCountry will invariably value the support of local music, art and beer and they're going to continue to support all of these. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Along with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery was recognized for live streaming music, but it's sensitive to Phish plays. They pull down the large projector screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance. The other known live streams that the brewery is concentrating on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the best thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did an excellent job in creating the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. You should stay tuned because there are several more canning designs that are on the way.
If you do not have any idea yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is really a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Cochran will undoubtedly wear his jersey so you have to keep an eye out.
