UpCountry Brewing was founded in 2016 by John Cochran, a craft beer industry veteran since the mid-1990's. John has worked lots of beer-related jobs in his 20+ years in brewing (including co-founding Terrapin Beer Company), and he is excited to obtain back to his roots by offering a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, good friends, and great beers.
UpCountry Brewing is a brewery, taproom, and music venue located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to say that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it's the brewery located furthest west before leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing can offer a range of beer styles, which would include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and much more. With twenty of its own beers on tap, the brew house is continuously thinking about and creating new beers for Asheville to enjoy. UpCountry offers flights, goblets, pints, and even a twenty-two ounce pour in the taproom. Additionally, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go features a growler with your choice of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. In addition to availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer could be found all over town in several grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding areas.
Our extensive beer list is perfect for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity above all else as well as daring recipes that everyone will absolutely enjoy. We are infusing a lot of our brews with several syrups and flavors that could offer an additional creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing a step further. We're all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can produce using the knowledge from each brewer!

Aside from brewing and selling beer, UpCountry can offer a full food menu that features appetizers, burgers, pizzas, salads, soups, hotdogs and meals for dogs. If you love sweets, we also have different dessert options available for you. Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even if you are actually on a diet, we will do everything to accommodate you. We've got a lot of options for the entire family and we're kid and dog friendly that you may enjoy.
When you've worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the ideal place to meet up with friends or family and satisfy your hunger. After you eat your dinner, lunch or snack, you may always try our corn hole and other activities scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we also offer yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Every month, UpCountry can be choosing a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry already worked several organizations like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass which will be changed every week. Customers can buy a featured beer and they could also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is really important and these pint nights can be a way for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music

UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly together with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. Apart from hosting live music, it's already known that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was recognized for live streaming music, but it's responsive to Phish plays. They pull down the big projector screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance. Other live streams the brewery is actually recognized for could include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

We offer all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry doesn't want to limit live music to having a cover charge, which is why all of our events are free to the public.

UpCountry Brewing is well recognized for being family and kid friendly. We've got a big outdoor patio space with games meant for children and a cornhole set for family and friends to enjoy. Our patio and courtyard are dog friendly, so bring the pup too!

UpCountry Brewing always pay attention to the outdoor activities that Asheville can offer from floating down the river to climbing the mountain trail. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design is the ideal thanks to the Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an outstanding job with designing the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. You need to stay tuned since there are several more canning designs which are on the way.
If you don't have any idea yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is actually a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will absolutely wear his jersey so you have to keep an eye out.
