UpCountry Brewing started by John Cochran in 2016 and he is popularly known as among the best in the craft beer industry since nineteen nineties. UpCountry Brewing can be located at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and it is a brewery, taproom and also a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing offers numerous types of beer styles, including saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts, and more. We've got over 20 kinds of beers on tap and we're still seeking to produce new beers that everyone will certainly enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can provide flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-once pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for purchase. Beer to go would include a growler with your preference of beer or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Along with the taproom, the beer of UpCountry can be located in several towns and grocery stores, bottle shops and bars situated in Asheville, together with the towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding places.
We've got our extensive beer list that's perfect for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes together with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We've got been infusing some of our brews with different syrups and flavors that could provide an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions, along with a pilot brew system to take brewing an extra step further. We always concentrate on experimentation and seeing the deliciousness that we could make with the use of the knowledge from the brewers.
Together with providing delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines along with a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everyone to enjoy. You don't have to be a hardcore beer lover to enjoy alcohol at our place-we've got choices for everyone! Aside from liquor, UpCountry can provide signature cocktails which could rotate throughout the year based on the season.
Aside from brewing and selling beer, UpCountry can provide a full food menu that features appetizers, burgers, pizzas, salads, soups, hotdogs and meals for dogs. We've got dessert choices for the sweet tooths out there, too! Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Even when you are on a diet, we are going to do our best to accommodate you. We've got plenty of choices for the entire family, along with kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for friends and family to enjoy.
Once you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the best place to talk with your friends and satisfy your hunger. After consuming your lunch, dinner, or snack, enjoy corn hole or one of the lots of activities we have got scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we also provide yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry can be choosing a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations such as Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that could be changed every week. Customers buy a featured beer and get to keep the glass, with ten percent of that beer's sales going towards the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is absolutely important and these pint nights can be a method for the brewery to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is definitely supporting local art and music in Asheville and all the surrounding places such as Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly together with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist every month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display along with for purchase. Together with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery along with at Bad Craft. The artist of the month is present and able to discuss their work, and a pint glass featuring the artist's work is available for purchase. UpCountry will always value the support of local music, art and beer and they will continue to support all of these. Community and business relationships are important for John Cochran, the owner of UpCountry, together with the support of the staff so the brewery will always look forward to continue the Pint Nights.
UpCountry brewing is always proud to offer live, local music on a nightly basis. If you'll take your friends and family members to tourist spots such as Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, you can always bring them to UpCountry for a night of Bluegrass, Music bingo, Open Mic, and live local music. We're always proud to host solo musicians such as Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We're even hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. These include bands like Phuncle Sam, The Paper Crowns, and The Dirty Dead. We've got other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Together with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery has been known for live streaming music, but it is extra attention to when Phish plays. They pull down the huge projector screen to stream the show and clear the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance. The other known live streams that the brewery is centering on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry motivates Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

We offer all of our music with NO cover charge. UpCountry does not want to limit the live music to have a cover charge, which is the reason why our events are free to public.

UpCountry Brewing is known for being family and kid friendly. We've got a huge outdoor patio space with games that are made for kids and also a cornhole set for the entire family to enjoy. Our patio along with courtyard are also dog friendly.

Think of UpCountry when you've exited Highway 26 and you're coming up Patton... but specifically think of UpCountry when you're craving a cold, craft beer. We're just right across The Odditorium, which is a West Asheville staple that you can visit before or after you come to our place.
For the folks who are only passing through, UpCountry can provide a welcoming and personable experience. We've got a friendly and certified staff so we know everything about beer. Our beer-tenders are able to offer suggestions based on the kinds of beer you and your friends enjoy. It is known as the Beer City Capital of the United States.
UpCountry Brewing offers beer tours by special request. Just check our website for information! Together with beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you'll obtain a guided tour of the brew house and along with a 'Beer 101' crash course in how to make and produce beer. Together with the beer making process, you'll learn what UpCountry's equipment does, and how each beer is brewed, from the recipe invention to kegging out the finished product in either cans or kegs.

Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been top notch thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a fantastic job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. You should stay tuned as there are several more canning designs that are on the way.
If you don't know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will certainly wear his jersey so you have to keep an eye out.
