UpCountry Brewing was actually set up in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John actually worked alongside different beer-related jobs in more than 20 years in the brewing industry and he is thrilled to go back and create a small, local brewery concentrating on wonderful beers, fun times and buddies. UpCountry Brewing may be seen in 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville and this is a taproom, brewery and a music venue.
UpCountry Brewing will offer a range of beer styles, which will include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and much more. With approximately 20 of its own beers on tap, the brew house is thinking of making new beers for everyone to enjoy. UpCountry Brewing will offer flights, pints, goblets and also a 22-once pour in the taproom. Additionally, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go includes a growler with your selection of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Along with availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer may be found all over town in different grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding locations.
Our extensive beer list is perfect for beer nerds everywhere. We value creativity and daring recipes in addition to those go-to, easy drinking styles that anyone can enjoy. We are infusing a lot of our brews with different syrups and flavors that could offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing one step further. Every month, UpCountry could be selecting a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry absolutely worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass that can be changed every week. Consumers can buy a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is certainly important and the pint nights could be a good way to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing helps local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding locations, like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery showcases one artist each month to display their artwork in UpCountry's taproom for display in addition to for purchase. Along with a month long campaign, each artists gets a designated Pint Night at the brewery in addition to at Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and also discuss their work along a pint glass featuring the work of the artist. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Apart from hosting live music, it is already known that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was known for live streaming music, but it is sensitive to Phish plays. They'll pull down the large projector screen in order to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. The other known live streams that the brewery is concentrating on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

UpCountry Brewing values being family and kid friendly. We have got a huge outdoor patio space with games for the kiddos in addition to a cornhole set for friends and family to enjoy. Our patio and courtyard is also dog friendly so bring them with you.

You have to think of UpCountry once you have exited Highway 26 and you coming up to Patton, but you have to think of UpCountry when you're searching for the best beer. We are just right across The Odditorium, which a location in West Asheville that you have to never miss after or before you decide to come to our place.
For those who are just passing through, UpCountry can offer you a welcoming and personable experience. We have got a friendly and certified staff so we understand everything about beer. Our beer-tenders are able to offer suggestions based on the types of beer you and your friends enjoy. It's known as the Beer City Capital of the United States.
UpCountry Brewing offers beer tours by special request. Just check our website for information! Along with beer tastings and a tour of the new taproom, you'll obtain a guided tour of the brew house and in addition to a 'Beer 101' crash course in the way to make and produce beer. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been high quality thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an exceptional job with creating the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. You have to stay tuned as there are several more canning designs which are on the way.
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has now become a go to spot in Asheville in watching the Georgia Bulldogs. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
