UpCountry Brewing began in 2016 by John Cochran, a craft beer industry veteran since the mid-1990's. John already has a lot of beer-related jobs within his 20 years in brewing and he is extremely excited to obtain back to his roots by giving a small, local brewery focusing on good friends, fantastic beers and fun times.
UpCountry Brewing is known as a brewery, taproom and also a music venue found at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to say that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it is the brewery located furthest west before leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing will offer a range of beer styles, which would include saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts and many more. With approximately 20 of its own beers on tap, the brew house is thinking about making new beers for everybody to enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can offer goblets, pints, flights and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. Also, the brewery has beer to go ready for buy. Beer to go would include a growler with your choice of beer or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. We also have our extensive beer list that's the best for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativeness and daring recipes together with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everybody would enjoy. We have been infusing some of our brews with various syrups and flavors that can offer an extra creative kick. The brewery also contains a Randall for infusions and also a pilot brew system to take the brewing one step further. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you may try the corn hole or other activities that we have got scheduled at the brewery. Apart from live music, we also offer yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Every month, UpCountry can select a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry absolutely worked with various organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Clients can purchase a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. Local Art And Music

UpCountry always hosts a local artist monthly together with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will be presenting one artist a month to show their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for buy and display. In addition to hosting live music, it is no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They're going to pull down the big projection screen to be able to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everybody can dance freely. UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been top notch thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg have done an exceptional job with designing the labeling artwork for UpCountry's Hop Dread, Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, and UpCo Mountain Lager. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
For those who do not know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will definitely wear his jersey so you need to keep an eye out.
