UpCountry Brewing was first established in 2016 by craft beer industry veteran John Cochran. John has worked many beer-related jobs in his 20+ years in brewing (including co-founding Terrapin Beer Company), and he is excited to obtain back to his roots by offering a small, local brewery with a spotlight on fun times, good friends, and fantastic beers.
UpCountry Brewing is a taproom, brewery and a music venue that you may find at 1042 Haywood Road in West Asheville. We like to claim that we brew our beer in "West, West Asheville," as it's the brewery located furthest west prior to leaving Beer City itself.
UpCountry Brewing provides a number of beer styles, including saisons, IPAs, sours, porters, stouts, and more. We have over 20 types of beers on tap and we are still planning to create new beers that everybody will definitely enjoy. UpCountry Brewing can offer goblets, pints, flights and a 22-ounce pour in the taproom. Furthermore, the brewery has beer to go for buy! Beer to go includes a growler with your choice of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with the taproom, the beer of UpCountry could be found in various towns and supermarkets, bottle shops and bars positioned in Asheville, along with the towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and neighboring areas.

Apart from live music, we have a yoga class during Sunday, music bingo on Wednesday and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry prefers a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry already worked various organizations for example Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Clients will definitely purchase a featured beer and they could keep the glass. The 10 percent of the sales could be going to the nonprofit orgs. At UpCountry, community is definitely essential and the pint nights could be a good method to give back.

In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will show off one artist each month to show their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and buy. Apart from the month long campaign, the artist will also get a delegated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can show and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist could be available. In addition to hosting live music, it is no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery is well-known for live streaming music, but is extra attentive to when Phish plays. They usually pull down the big projection screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! Other live streams the brewery is actually noted for would include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

If you do not have any idea yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is actually a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Cochran will definitely wear his jersey so you need to keep an eye out.
