Every month, UpCountry will be choosing a local nonprofit to represent their "Miracle Pint Night" every Thursday. UpCountry has worked with organizations including Friends of the Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry will host the pint night with a unique glass which will be changed every week. Buyers can purchase a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is absolutely essential and these pint nights will be a method for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing supports local art and music in Asheville and close, neighboring places, including Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist of the month with Bad Craft, an artist shop in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will show off one artist each month to show their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and buy. Aside from the month long campaign, the artist can also get a delegated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can display and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist will be available. UpCountry values the support of local art, music, and beer, and will continue to demonstrate their support for all of these avenues of Asheville. Community and business relationships are essential for John Cochran, the owner of UpCountry, together with the support of the staff so the brewery will invariably look forward to continue the Pint Nights.
UpCountry brewing is proud to offer live, local music every night. Once you've taken the family and friends to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We love hosting solo musicians like Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We are even hosting those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. It will include several bands including The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Wish to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Apart from hosting live music, it is already known that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans. The brewery was known for live streaming music, but it is sensitive to Phish plays. They generally pull down the huge projection screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! Other live streams the brewery is known for include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry motivates Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been top notch thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a terrific job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. You must keep an eye out because Cochran will absolutely wear his jersey.
