When you have worked up an appetite hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the perfect place to connect to family or friends and satisfy your hunger. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you can try the corn hole or other activities that we have got scheduled at the brewery. Together with live music, we host a yoga class on Sunday mornings, music bingo on Wednesdays, and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry prefers a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry unquestionably worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Consumers will certainly buy a featured beer and they can keep the glass. The ten percent of the sales can be going to the nonprofit organizations. At UpCountry, community is important, and these pint nights are just one way for the brewery to give back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing supports local art and music in Asheville and close, surrounding places, including Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop positioned in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery will show off one artist every month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for display and purchase. Aside from a month long campaign, every artist will get a designated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month can present and discuss their work and a pint glass feature the work of the artist can be available. UpCountry will invariably value the support of local music, art and beer and they'll continue to support all of these. UpCountry brewing is always proud to offer live, local music on a nightly basis. Once you've taken the friends and family to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We're always proud to host solo musicians including Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We even host those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. It'll include several bands including The Paper Crowns, The Dirty Dead and Phuncle Sam. We've got other bands that we love to host like The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Together with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery was noted for live streaming music, but it is sensitive to Phish plays. They are going to pull down the huge projector screen to be able to stream the show and clear all the chairs and tables in the music room so everyone can dance freely. Other live streams the brewery is really noted for could include Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry Brewing offers beer tours by special request. Just check our website for information! UpCountry's latest logo re-design have been the best and it is all thanks to Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did a great job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are plenty of canning designs on the way so you need to stay tuned.
For those who don't know, UpCountry Brewing's owner, John Cochran, is a DAWG Alum! UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. You must keep an eye out because Cochran will certainly wear his jersey.
