UpCountry Brewing was actually founded by John Cochran in 2016 and he is referred to as a craft beer industry veteran. With approximately 20 of its own beers on tap, the brew house is considering making new beers for everyone to enjoy. UpCountry offers flights, goblets, pints, and even a twenty-two ounce pour in the taproom. Furthermore, the brewery has beer to go for purchase! Beer to go features a growler with your preference of beer, or cans of the Mangose, UpCo Lager, Hop Dread Red IPA, or Bogey Free Session IPA. Together with availability in the taproom, UpCountry's beer can be found all over town in several grocery stores, bottle shops, and bars in Asheville, including towns like Woodfin, Waynesville, Canton, Candler, Black Mountain, Arden, Hendersonville, Weaverville, and surrounding places.
We also have our extensive beer list that is the best for beer nerds everywhere. We always value creativity and daring recipes along with those go-to, easy drinking styles that everyone would enjoy. We've lately been infusing a lot of our brews with several syrups and flavors for an extra creative kick. The brewery also has a Randall for infusions and a pilot brew system to help take the brewing one step further. We are all about experimenting and seeing what deliciousness we can create using the knowledge from each brewer!
Together with offering delicious beer, UpCountry has red and white wines along with a full liquor bar of whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, and other spirits for everyone to enjoy. You do not have to be a full-on beer lover to enjoy alcohol at our place-we've got options for everyone! Apart from liquor, UpCountry might also offer signature cocktails that might rotate throughout the year based on the season.
Together with brewing and selling delicious beer, UpCountry offers a full food menu featuring appetizers, pizzas, burgers, salads, hot dogs, soups, and even meals for dogs. We also have dessert options for the sweet tooths out there, too! Our wide menu variety offers something for everyone! We're also vegan and gluten-free friendly. Whatever your dietary restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate you! We have plenty of options for the whole family, along with kid-friendly and dog friendly menu for friends and family to enjoy.
When you have worked up an appetite by hiking at the Blue Ridge Parkway or floating down the French Broad River, UpCountry is the ideal place to meet with your friends and satisfy your hunger. After eating your dinner, lunch or snack, you may try the corn hole or other activities that we have got scheduled at the brewery. Together with live music, we host a yoga class on Sunday mornings, music bingo on Wednesdays, and local pint nights on Thursdays.
Each month, UpCountry selects a different local nonprofit to represent their 'Miracle Pint Night' each Thursday. UpCountry surely worked with different organizations before like Smokies, Habitat for Humanity, LEAF, Asheville Humane Society, and The Rainbow School. On Thursdays, UpCountry hosts the pint night with a unique glass that varies week by week. Customers can buy a featured beer and they can also keep the glass, with 10 percent profit going to the featured nonprofit. At UpCountry, community is important, and these pint nights are only one method for the brewery to provide back.
Local Art And Music
UpCountry Brewing is always supporting local art and music in Asheville and the surrounding places like Black Mountain, Woodfin, East Asheville, and the River Arts District.
In house, UpCountry hosts a local artist monthly with Bad Craft, an artist shop situated in Black Mountain, NC. The brewery could be exhibiting one artist a month to display their artwork at the taproom of UpCountry for purchase and display. Apart from a month long campaign, every artist will get a designated Pint Night at the brewery and Bad Craft. The artist of the month is there and able to discuss their work, and a pint glass featuring the artist's work is available for purchase. UpCountry will invariably support the local music, art and beer in the area and will continue doing this in the foreseeable future. UpCountry brewing is always proud to offer live, local music on a nightly basis. Once you've taken the friends and family to the tourist spots like Biscuit Head, Nine Mile, and Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, bring them down to UpCountry for an intimate night of Bluegrass, Open Mic, Music Bingo, or live local music on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. We're always proud to host solo musicians for example Dave Desmelik, Anya Hinkle, Old Sap, Stephen Horvath, Robin Lewis, Nikki Forbes, Scott Stetson, and more. We even host those Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead Tributes. These include bands like Phuncle Sam, The Paper Crowns, and The Dirty Dead. Other bands that we love to host include The Junk Drawer, Mama Danger, the Free Wheelin' Mamas, Cat and Crow, Kaizen with Jeff Sipe, Astral Plainsmen, Cyndi Lou and The Want to, Sirius B., Moonlight Street Folk, The Dirty Badgers, and several more.
Together with hosting live music, it's no secret that UpCountry Brewing is a bunch of hardcore Phish fans! The brewery was noted for live streaming music, but it's responsive to Phish plays. They typically pull down the huge projector screen to stream each show and clear out the chairs and tables in the music room so that Asheville can dance it out! The other known live streams that the brewery is centering on are Widespread Panic, Dead and Co., and Umphrey's McGee. UpCountry encourages Asheville to bring some friends, enjoy some brews, and boogie!

You have to think of UpCountry when you have exited Highway 26 and you coming up to Patton, but you have to think of UpCountry when you're searching for the best beer. We're right across from our good friends at The Odditorium, a West Asheville staple that you should totally have a look at before or after you're at our place.
For the folks who are only passing through, UpCountry can offer a welcoming and personable experience. Our staff is friendly and Cicerone certified, meaning we are knowledgeable in all things beer! Our beer-tenders are able to offer suggestions based on the kinds of beer you and your friends enjoy. After all, you did venture to the Beer City Capital of the United States!
UpCountry Brewing can offer beer tours by special request and you may check our website for this. Good Beer Hunting
UpCountry's latest logo re-design has been high quality thanks to friends at Good Beer Hunting in Chicago, IL. Designers Michael Kiser, Cooper Foszcz, and Mike Duesenberg did an excellent job in developing the labeling artwork for Mangose, Isoprene Hazy IPA, UpCo Mountain Lager and Hop Dread. There are several more canning designs on the way, so stay tuned for what UpCountry and Good Beer Hunting come up with!
If you don't know yet, the owner of UpCountry Brewing is a DAWG Alum. UpCountry has become a go-to spot in Asheville for watching the Georgia Bulldogs games. Keep an eye out, because Cochran will wear his jersey.
