New On Tap: Brown Eyed Girl Brown Ale
Transylvania NAACP: Our Helping Hand Nonprofit for November
In order to elevate our community support to the next level, we are creating a new monthly program called UpCo/Grata Helping Hand. (UpCo for UPcountry COmmunity. Grata for GRATEFUL.) Here's how it will work: UpCo/Grata Helping Hand will operate in both the West Asheville and Brevard taprooms. Each month we will choose a cause or organization to support. Throughout that month, we will donate a portion of our sales from all three of our business avenues to the nonprofit. We will also encourage/accept direct donations. Now, let's talk about November's Helping Hand campaign, the Transylvania County NAACP:
Since 1909, NAACP has been a leader in the fight against racism and for equality and justice. Early campaigns were around the hate crime of lynching and racist depictions of African-Americans in film and theater. Current struggles are to secure voting rights, enact criminal justice reform and protect Black lives. Working to realize the vision of a society in which all individuals have equal rights. Today, the NAACP is bringing together lifelong residents and newcomers of every background, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity in pursuit of that mission. Their commitments include:
Sippin' on Ginger Juice - Our New Brew with Devil's Foot Beverage Company!
We are so excited to release our newest brew in partnership with our friends at Devil's Foot Beverage Company - Sippin' On Ginger Juice! This hard ginger seltzer is now on tap at both of our taprooms in Asheville and Brevard. We're also please to announce that this brew will be canned in the late spring/early summer, so make sure you keep your eye out!
Sippin' On Ginger Juice is a laid back 4% ABV hard ginger seltzer. Developed in partnership with Asheville's own Devil's Foot Beverage Company, this ginger juice combo is a crisp and refreshing alternative for when your mind is on the mountains and the mountains are on your mind. Let us know what you think!
UpCountry's relationship with Devil's Foot goes way back since one of the founders of Devil's Foot, Jacob Baumann, used to be a bartender at UpCountry Brewing. When the opportunty presented itself for a colalboration brew, there was no question that it would be a fun experience.
From Jacob: "John approached us at Devil’s Foot Beverage about collaborating on a hard version of our non-alcoholic ginger beer, and it really just made a lot of sense to us. The fact that we already had a close relationship - I used to be a bartender at UpCountry when it first opened - sealed the deal for us. After some test batching, we found what we think is a sessionable, delicious hard ginger beer that we think will be a perfect addition to the upcoming warmer months."
Keep an eye out for this beer around town, and definitely stay tuned for more collaboration recipes between UpCountry Brewing and Devil's Foot Beverage Company. Cheers!
